Rain rain rain!
Even coming half way around the world, you still can't get away from the rain. It poured down yesterday so we spent some time at the hostel planning our next stop off which will be Kerikeri, just further up the coast. It is our last day here in Paihia and today the weather is much better, we have sunshine, so we took the short journey by boat across the bay to Russell, the first settlement of New Zealand. It was really lovely there, very quiet and had many interesting buildings and picturesque viewing points. We're glad we were able to exlore it as many people had said it was worth a visit. Which it defo was. Tomorrow we are catching a local bus up to Kerikeri and looking forward to more adventures further north. We are expecting it to be slightly busier than our last few stops and we have many more interesting trips planned (including visiting a chocolate factory!) for our four days there, although as we have discovered plans change easily when you travel and we could be there longer.
